Max Sunshine Sidekick Satsuma

Max is estimated to be around 10 months old and weighs about 37 lbs. He appears to be a Vizsla Lab mix, though breed and birthday are our best guess. Max is a joyful, happy, and affectionate boy with a wonderfully goofy side. He has a natural rhythm for dog-life and people-adoring, making him an instant best friend. He welcomes everyone and is even more thrilled if a dog companion is present. Max is in an adolescent phase where everything feels a bit silly and a lot of fun. He is being fostered in Renton, WA, and truly shines in his foster home, where he acts as a people dog, greeting everyone with enthusiasm and seeking extra affection. He enjoys staying close to his people and being part of their activities.

Ideal Home

Max would love a home that is ready for a growing puppy who thrives on connection. A yard would be a bonus, but his most important need is people to follow, play with, and love. He will do best with daily activity, some structure, and someone who enjoys watching a good dog grow into a great one.

Ongoing Health

Max is a young dog and is still learning. He is doing well with potty and crate training and sleeps through the night. He can settle in his crate during the day after a brief protest about missing out on the fun. He is smart, curious, and eager to get things right.

Training & Support

Leash walking is still coming together, and Max sometimes needs a little encouragement to get going, but he is willing and improves with consistency. He responds best to gentle, positive guidance and does not need a heavy hand. Like any young dog, Max may have occasional puppy moments, such as being a little distracted, experiencing bursts of zoomies, or curiously investigating the counter if something smells interesting. These are normal behaviors for a young dog figuring things out with a good heart and lots of enthusiasm.

• The adoption fee is $1,000.00 and includes all vetting, vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, flea and heartworm prevention, microchip, a Martingale collar, a health certificate for travel, and the cost of transport.
• A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
• Adopters receive special perks including behavioral assessments, discounts on DNA tests and pet insurance, a free dog training session, discounts on training and dog food subscriptions, coupons for Petco, and discounts on pet first aid and hygiene solutions.

Transporation

Max is currently being fostered in Renton, WA and is available for local meet and greets. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
