Davidson

Meet Davidson, a 3-year-old, 53-pound Labrador mix lovingly called Davie. He's a sweet and gentle boy who is learning that the world can be a safe place. Davie came to us underweight and with the emotional scars of past abuse, so he needs a patient and understanding adopter to help him continue building confidence. He is timid and easily startled, but he shuts down rather than reacts when scared, showing no aggression, only fear. Davie responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He can be nervous around men but is making progress with his foster dad, allowing pets and slowly working on leash training. He's started wagging his tail and even doing a tiny gallop when feeling brave. Davie has shown friendly interest in foster puppies, sniffing noses through their pen and wagging his tail. He is crate trained and has had no accidents.

Ideal Home

Davie will likely need a very secure environment. His adopter will need to be diligent with leashing, gates, and other safety precautions.

Ongoing Health

Davie came to us underweight, but is now receiving appropriate care.

Training & Support

Davie responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He is crate trained.
