Nala is a sweet 4-year-old, 43.6lb Pit Bull mix with a heart of gold, just waiting for her forever family. She's a medium-energy girl who moves at her own pace and is looking for a patient adopter to show her the ropes. Nala can be a little nervous when first meeting new people and is a bit head-shy, but with slow introductions and a gentle touch, she warms up quickly and offers plenty of affection. Due to limited socialization in her past, she can be startled by sudden movements, so a calm and consistent environment will help her feel most secure. Once she trusts you, Nala is a dream on walks, walking calmly and easily on a leash. She already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more, though she can be a bit eager for treats as she works on gaining some weight. While she's not interested in toys right now, confidence-building exercises in a quiet setting would be beneficial. We're still learning about her compatibility with other dogs and will update her profile once she's had a chance to meet them in our playgroup. With a little love and understanding, Nala will surely blossom into a devoted and steadfast companion.
Ideal Home
Nala would thrive in a home that offers slow introductions and a gentle, consistent approach. A quiet environment would be ideal for her confidence-building exercises.
Ongoing Health
Nala is working on gaining some weight and can be a bit "snatchy" with treats while she does.
Training & Support
Nala knows "sit" and is eager to learn more. She would benefit from confidence-building exercises. Work on reducing treat snatching during training sessions.
