Kaiser Cruz is an approximately 8-year-old, 64 lb Shepherd mix with the most magnificent ears you've ever seen! He's a total catch – snuggly, good with other dogs, loves the outdoors, is super smart, and fantastic with kids! Kaiser is the perfect blend of affectionate and independent, making him an excellent companion for those who work from home. He's a well-mannered boy who knows when to offer a gentle ear scratch and when to entertain himself by watching out the window or playing with a toy. He’s been living with a foster family and is adored by them, especially by the 4 and 8-year-old children he lives with. He’s incredibly sweet and tolerant with them, often showering them with gentle kisses. If you're looking for a loving best friend for your kids, Kaiser is your guy!
He's also a great doggy friend, having been introduced to many dogs with different personalities and getting along wonderfully with them all. He's adaptable and happy to either play or do his own thing, but he does enjoy a good shepherd-style play session, complete with mouthy air play and paw-boxing! He would love a dog sibling but doesn't require one to feel fulfilled.
Ideal Home
Kaiser would thrive in a home with a backyard where he can explore, sunbathe, and enjoy the fresh air. He’d make a wonderful companion for gardening or relaxing outdoors and would love neighborhood walks and mini-adventures, followed by cozy time indoors.

Training & Support
Kaiser has wonderful house manners. Our on-site trainers assess and modify behavior as needed, providing individualized plans for potty training, crate training, and leash walking to prepare dogs for their future families.

Transporation
Kaiser is currently fostered in Houston, TX. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT). You can track your pet's journey in real-time. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
