Meet Rio!
Rio is a beautiful and smart Shepherd mix, possibly with some Whippet in her, who is as graceful as she is intelligent. Born around May 1, 2025, she currently weighs about 30 pounds and is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. Rescued from an abandoned home in Texas, Rio has shown incredible resilience, friendliness, and a gentle spirit, making her a truly wonderful companion. She's currently being fostered in Massachusetts and is available for adoption, with transportation to her forever home being coordinated by our rescue.
Ideal Home
Rio would love an active person or family who is excited to share life's adventures with her. She would also enjoy a canine companion to play and explore with, though this is not a requirement. Homes with children 10 years and older are recommended to ensure the best fit for both Rio and the family.

Rio is a healthy young pup and no specific health conditions are noted in her listing.
Training & Support
Rio is a quick learner and is doing wonderfully with her house training and is already crate trained. She's even learning to ring a bell to signal when she needs to go outside! While she can be a bit reserved at first, she is blossoming daily and is eager to please. With love and continued training, she has so much potential to become an even more confident and well-behaved companion.
