Sugar Pie

Sugar Pie is a sweet girl who was about 4 months old when she and her sister, Honey Bunch, were rescued from a ranch. Her parents were working livestock guardians, and Sugar Pie has been around goats her entire life. She and her sister were unsocialized and very ill with parvo upon arrival. Sugar Pie was hospitalized for a week, which helped with her socialization. She is still shy with new people but will approach for treats and pets, showing she can form bonds with her new family.

Ideal Home

Sugar Pie is playful with other dogs and has learned to tolerate barn cats. She respects the lead livestock guardian dog and understands boundaries around the goats. Her past exposure to large goats has taught her to be respectful. She needs to be partnered with an adult livestock guardian dog if adopted as a working dog.

Ongoing Health

Sugar Pie survived a severe case of parvo, which required hospitalization.

Training & Support

Sugar Pie can be shy when meeting new people, but she is eager for treats and affection once comfortable. She has learned to coexist with cats and respects the lead livestock guardian dog.
