Sugar Pie is a playful livestock guardian pup who grew up around goats and cattle. She was rescued from a ranch with her sister after arriving completely unsocialized and seriously ill with parvo. She remains shy with new people but seeks treats and affection from trusted caregivers and can bond with a new family.

Ideal Home

Sugar Pie enjoys playing with other dogs and has learned to accept barn cats. She has experience around Nigerian Dwarf and Boer goats and respects corrections from an adult livestock guardian dog.

If adopted as a working dog, Sugar Pie needs to be teamed with an adult livestock guardian dog. Her adult weight is estimated at approximately 80 pounds, though she could reach 90–100 pounds.

Ongoing Health

Sugar Pie was hospitalized for about a week after contracting parvo. The 80-pound estimate is based partly on her weight at her last veterinary visit and expected growth.

Training & Support

Sugar Pie was initially unsocialized and is still shy when meeting new people. She has made progress through hospitalization and ongoing socialization, and she seeks treats and petting from people she trusts.
