Meet Mari! Mari is a 5-year-old, 18 lb female Cairn Terrier mix with a charming, spirited, and bold personality. She's gentle, sweet, and loving, with a playful and affectionate nature that makes her a joy for families and active individuals. Mari is intelligent and learns quickly, but can be a bit independent, so consistent training is key. Her curious and adventurous spirit makes her a natural explorer, and she's fiercely loyal, forming strong bonds with her family. When it's time to relax, Mari enjoys a good snooze on cozy dog beds and is happy sleeping in her own space. She also loves a good brushing, which instantly relaxes her. Despite her small size, Mari is brave and confident, often thinking she's much larger than she is. She's good with other dogs at the dog park but can be dominant towards dogs that resemble her.
Ideal Home
Mari would thrive in a home with adults or older children who appreciate her energetic, snuggly, and entertaining companionship. She prefers a calm setting and likes her space at times, making her not suitable for a home with smaller children. She is also not suited for a home with cats or other small critters.

Training & Support
Mari is smart and learns quickly, but her independent nature means consistent training is essential. She is leash reactive due to her dominant nature, becoming more assertive near other dogs while on leash, though she is fine with other dogs when not leashed. This leash reactivity needs work and requires a competent handler motivated to help her learn. Mari does not have accidents inside but may need a few nights to sort out her new surroundings. She loves tasty treats and is motivated by them.
