About Loki

Loki is a charming 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Rescued from the woods with his mom, Wanda, and siblings, Loki has blossomed in a loving foster home. He's the adventurous and fearless leader of his litter, always eager to explore and make his presence known with a bold bark. Loki is a master climber and enjoys playful games of keep-away with his favorite toys. He's potty-trained, though a few accidents might happen as he adjusts to a new home. While brave, he can be a little hesitant with new experiences, but quickly overcomes it. Loki adores food and will happily claim his spot at the front of the line! Despite his energetic antics, he’s also a sweet cuddle bug who loves to snuggle after a day of play. He’s great with people and other dogs, and has happily interacted with children at community events. Loki has experience with crates and is still working on his leash skills and basic obedience, showing great eagerness to learn.

Ideal Home

Loki is looking for a family committed to positive reinforcement and helping him build confidence. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog is preferred to help him learn appropriate social skills. If you don't have another dog, please have a plan for continued socialization, such as training classes, supervised daycare, or playdates. Loki also thrives with a family where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours, ensuring he gets plenty of attention, potty breaks, and exercise.

Ongoing Health

Loki is generally healthy. As an adolescent, he's still growing and learning.

Training & Support

Loki is potty-trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his lifelong confidence.
