Zac is a handsome 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He's a loyal companion with a wonderful blend of playful energy and a desire to cuddle. Zac was rescued from a county shelter and underwent FHO surgery on his back leg, which has healed well with no further medical intervention needed. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and generally a low-energy dog indoors, but enjoys exploring and stretching his legs outside. Zac absolutely adores people and thrives on attention, belly rubs, and gentle pets. He's also quite the conversationalist, especially if dinner is late! While he hasn't lived with young children, he has done well meeting new people and is becoming more comfortable in the car.
Ideal Home
Zac would thrive in a home where he isn't left alone for long periods. He seems happiest when he has other dogs around or people nearby to share his life with. While his foster believes he'd do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited, this is a behavior that would need ongoing guidance.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from his FHO surgery and requires no further medical intervention or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He needs continued guidance on not jumping up when he gets excited. He loves treats and toys, and has shown no signs of resource guarding.
