Baxter is a 6-month-old Shepherd mix who is eager to please and ready to find his forever family. He's a lovable goofball with a heart as big as his paws, currently weighing 42 pounds and expected to grow into a large adult dog. Baxter thrives on play and companionship, enjoying games of chase and zooming around the yard. He has a moderate energy level, happy to romp for about 30 minutes before settling down for some quality cuddle time. Baxter is a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with other dogs and showing playful, respectful manners. He's also a sweetheart with people, enjoying leaning into his humans, resting his head on their laps, and soaking up affection. Baxter has met older children without issue and would likely enjoy a home with respectful kids who are steady on their feet. He's also showing great curiosity and gentleness around cats, with potential for a slow integration. One of his most endearing quirks is his unique way of getting off the couch, slowly sliding down with his front paws first!

Ongoing Health
Baxter is neutered. He may have a small submissive pee if startled or frightened.
Training & Support
Baxter is still working on his leash manners and can pull when walking, as he gets overstimulated by exciting sights and smells. He is mostly house-trained but may have occasional accidents. He crates well overnight and can settle calmly for a few hours after exercise. He eats enthusiastically and does best when fed separately from other pets. Consistency and routine will help Baxter continue to build confidence and good manners.

Transporation
Baxter is currently in a foster home in CAMAS, WA and is available for meet and greets. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
