About Blair (Billie)
Meet Blair, also known as Billie, a spirited and utterly charming black-and-white puppy with a big personality packed into a cute package! At 16 weeks old, this Lab/Pit mix foster in Austin, Texas, is already showing all the signs of becoming a large, adventurous, and deeply loving companion. Billie is bold, curious, and approaches the world with the conviction that everyone is her new best friend. She came into rescue with her siblings experiencing a skin condition that caused some hair loss, but they've fully recovered and are now in the healing phase, with her coat expected to grow back beautifully. This little "billy goat" loves to explore, play, and "talk" to you, always ready for an adventure or to be your loyal sidekick. She’s already a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with other dogs, including a resident Golden Retriever she plays with daily. While she hasn't met cats or children yet, she'd likely do well with respectful kids who understand puppy energy. Billie is also incredibly smart, already coming when called, sitting for treats, and demonstrating a soft mouth. She’s about 80% potty trained and can alert you when she needs to go, and she’s making great progress with crate training and sleeping through the night. She’s gaining confidence on leash and will benefit from continued structure and guidance. Billie is happiest when she’s by your side, and she’ll definitely keep you laughing, smiling, and feeling loved. She'll do best in a home where someone is around often to help channel her big personality and ensure she grows into a well-rounded adult dog. If you're ready to embrace a brave, hilarious, and loving puppy with a huge heart, Blair (Billie) is ready to bring endless fun into your life!
Ideal Home
Billie will do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to guide her, engage her, and help channel her big personality. She is expected to grow into a large dog and will need a family ready to embrace her bold, adventurous spirit and keep up with all the fun she brings.
Ongoing Health
Blair and her siblings came into rescue dealing with a skin condition that caused some hair loss, but they’ve fully recovered and are now just in the healing phase while their coats grow back in.
Training & Support
Billie is curious, playful, and always the first to investigate something new. She is incredibly smart and already ahead of the curve for her age. She comes when called, sits on command (and happily for treats), and has a soft mouth when taking food. She’s about 80% potty trained and will even let you know when she needs to go if she’s in her playpen or kennel. She’s comfortable in a crate for short periods and has had about nine consecutive nights with no accidents, sleeping from 9 PM to 5:30 AM in an open playpen. She’s also doing well on leash and building confidence more every day. Like any puppy, she’ll still need continued structure, guidance, and consistency as she grows.
