Nu Nu is an 8-year-old, 58 lb sweetheart who is looking for a second chance at a happy life. For eight years, Nu Nu knew what home felt like. She had her person, her routine, and the comfort of a life she understood. Unfortunately, her elderly owner reached a point where they could no longer care for her, and with no other options available, Nu Nu found herself at the shelter. When Nu Nu arrived, she was initially housed outside due to space limitations. Today, she moved to the adoption floor, and it was clear just how overwhelming the new environment was for her. The barking, the activity, and the unfamiliar surroundings were a lot for a girl who had spent years living a quiet life in a home. She took everything in very carefully, but eventually settled into her kennel. When taken outside for photos, Nu Nu stayed very close to her handlers, seeking comfort in their presence. Her eyes tell a story of a dog trying to understand why her whole world has suddenly changed. She greeted a few passing dogs with gentle tail wags and friendly curiosity, which were encouraging signs. We don't know everything about Nu Nu yet, but we do know she's a sweet senior girl who deserves another chance at a loving home. We believe she would likely do well with older, respectful children. Most of all, we know she shouldn't spend her golden years in a crowded shelter. Let's help Nu Nu find the soft bed, quiet home, and loving family she deserves.
