Spot is a friendly dog who gets along well with people and other dogs. He has experience living in a house, but has been abandoned a couple of times and is hoping to find his forever home. When he first got off the transfer truck, the poor guy was rather overwhelmed, but he adjusted quickly with some sleep and food. He's still a bit suspicious about new activities, but he can be won over with treats.
The crate is not Spot's favorite place, but he sleeps in it without complaint. He also does pretty well roaming a small portion of the house for a couple of hours (home alone with our dogs). He is potty trained, but doesn't ask to go outside. However, he loves to hang out in the great outdoors! Sunbathing might be his favorite sport.
Spot loves to wrestle with the resident German Shepherd and the other 35 lb. foster. His energy comes in spurts - he'll wrestle or go for a walk, then settle in for a nap. Like most rescues, he needs to work on his leash manners, but overall does well on walks.
Inside the house, Spot is a pretty independent dog. He'll come check in for some attention, then find a toy to chew or take a nap.
Spot occasionally barks, maybe once a day. He will whine and squawk a bit, especially when his people arrive home but haven't greeted him yet. Overall, Spot is a really easy dog to be around!
The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
