Petra is truly one of the sweetest dogs we've fostered. After just a few days in our home, she has shown herself to be incredibly loving, gentle, and affectionate. She is both potty trained and crate trained. At bedtime or when crated, she may whine for a few seconds but settles quickly and relaxes without any issues. Petra absolutely loves her ball and will happily play fetch for as long as you're willing. She also enjoys toys and entertains herself well. Rather than destroying her toys, she prefers to carry around a stuffed toy like a little pacifier, which is incredibly cute. She does appear to have a fairly high prey drive, so be prepared to keep a good hold on her leash if she spots a squirrel or rabbit during walks. We have been moving slowly with intros to our 2 resident dogs. She is non-reactive to them approaching the barrier whether it's just a baby gate or when she's in her crate. She seems to be fairly chill in the first week that we've had her. She does grumble a little towards the smaller one but it appears to be friendly interest so far. Around the house, Petra has been a wonderful companion. She loves to snuggle, enjoys lounging on the couch, and is perfectly content to nap while you watch TV. Overall, she has a calm, easygoing personality with playful moments, making her a delightful balance of fun and relaxation.
Ideal Home
Petra would do well in a home that can keep her engaged with play, especially fetch. Given her prey drive, a home that can manage her on walks when squirrels or rabbits are around will be ideal.
