Astrid is a beautiful, intelligent German Shepherd who embodies many classic traits of her breed: loyal, protective, and deeply bonded to her people. She's looking for a calm, structured home where she can truly thrive as the only pet. She's incredibly affectionate once she's warmed up to you, seeking out your attention, following you around, and even crawling into your lap for cuddles on her own terms. Astrid is housebroken, kennel-trained, and knows several commands like sit, wait, kennel, and ok (release). She even comes when you whistle! In true shepherd fashion, Astrid is protective of her home and will alert bark at strangers. She requires slow, patient introductions to new people, but once she feels safe, her sweet, silly side shines through. She's a great mix of playful and cuddly - she loves a good game of fetch and enjoys "talking" to let you know when she wants something. She walks well on a leash, but should be held close when passing other dogs. She does well with older, respectful children but is too stimulated by the fast movements of small kids. She loves being outside in a securely fenced yard, where she can patrol and chase the occasional squirrel or rabbit. She thrives in routine and familiarity - she's not a fan of car rides or busy environments and prefers to stay close to home. If you're a shepherd-savvy family looking for a devoted companion to share your quiet home, Astrid might just be your perfect match. With time, patience, and love, she will reward you with deep loyalty, silly antics, and endless affection.
