Luther is a sweet, silly, 1-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who weighs about 55 pounds. He's a high-energy pup with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling! With his bouncy floppy ears and playful spirit, he's ready to find a forever home that will enjoy both his zoomies and his snuggles. Luther is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He's a curious, playful, smart, silly, and affectionate boy who loves attention, pets, and plenty of kisses. He enjoys being close to his human and absolutely melts for belly scratches. When meeting strangers, he may seem a little skittish at first, but he warms up quickly with gentle reassurance.
Ideal Home
Luther would do well in many types of homes, apartment or house, as long as he receives regular exercise and continued guidance. A backyard would be a bonus for zoomies, but daily walks and playtime are just as great. He doesn't mind if he's the only dog or has canine siblings, but he'll always choose his humans first. He does prefer human interaction and bonding time with his people, so if he is the only dog in the home, we will discuss plans for socialization.

Training & Support
Luther is house-trained and has not had any accidents since his first day in foster care. He sleeps in his crate and, while he may protest briefly at first, he settles within a few minutes. When left alone for up to two hours, he typically just naps. He isn't ready to be left loose in the house yet, as he's still learning what is and isn't a toy. On leash, he can be somewhat barky when seeing other dogs, but he walks beautifully side-by-side with a canine companion and this is something that can continue to improve with training. He eats comfortably around other dogs and shows no possessiveness over toys, treats, or food, even when hand-fed.

Transporation
Luther is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas. He can be transported to an adopter once approved. Transports run every few weeks.
