Mona

Meet Mona! This gorgeous 2-year-old Mountain Cur mix is a sweet, smart, and active girl who was surrendered to us through no fault of her own. Her previous owner fell on hard times and knew these dogs deserved loving, forever homes. Mona is now settling into her new life and learning to be her best self. She's an energetic goofball who is absolutely obsessed with stuffed toys! Volunteers have enjoyed her company, noting that she's independent in a good way – she enjoys affection but also likes her own space. Mona walks well on a leash, is eager to explore with her nose, and did a great job sitting at a restaurant. While she showed a desire to greet people and other dogs, she responded well when asked to come back and settle. We promised Mona the rest of her life would be the best of her life, and we hope you can make that a reality for her!

Training & Support

Mona is still learning to navigate the world and may need continued guidance with leash manners and polite greetings. Her eagerness to explore means consistent reinforcement of commands will be beneficial.

Transportation

Mona is currently located in South Carolina and we transport to the Northeast weekly. Applicants not located along the East Coast should be willing to travel to pick up their pet. We provide local or virtual meet-and-greets with an application on file.
