Meet Josta! This sweet 44lb, 3-year-old APBT mix is looking for her forever family. She came to us through no fault of her own and is ready to start her new life. Josta is described as house-trained and crate-trained, making her a great candidate for easy integration into your home. She's currently on the road to recovery from heartworm treatment, and our team is happy to discuss her treatment plan and provide all the details you'll need.

Ideal Home

Josta has a friendly and playful personality and has lived wonderfully with middle-aged children. She also previously lived with a male dog and got along well. However, she may do best as the only female dog in the home due to some challenges with another female dog, which included resource guarding. She has shown a tendency to chase cats, though without aggression, so a cat-free home or one with confident, dog-savvy cats would be the best fit.

Ongoing Health

Josta is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and is on the mend. Our team will provide full details on her treatment plan and ongoing care needs.

Training & Support

Josta is a high-energy pup who will thrive with an active family. She will benefit greatly from continued training, especially focusing on leash manners to help her become the best walking companion. Thoughtful management and slow introductions will be important when introducing her to other pets.
