Happy Hanky Wiggles of Joy

You know how some dogs you can just look at an know they are happy, friendly, and good company? That was exactly how I felt the moment I saw Hanky. If pure joy were a dog, it would be Hanky Baby! He is estimated to be just under 1 year old, so he has his happy personality paired with the wiggles and sweetness of puppyhood. Simply put, he is the definition of happy-go-lucky, friendly, affectionate, social, and always ready to make a new best friend. Hanky has been so fortunate and is fostered in a loving home, which means he is both house and crate trained and has a great base of those wonderful house manners all dogs need. His foster mom said this when we asked about Hanky: "This one was ALMOST a foster fail. This dog has stolen our family's heart and is the new mascot for our school bus stop! He is such a lover, loves to be around people, and will just sit at your feet. He's super sweet with kids and even though he's a puppy, he does not jump on the kids and just wants to be near them." Hanky Bear cannot meet a stranger—with people, dogs, and cats, he just wants to play and be in the middle of all of the fun. He's got a sweet puppy personality and doesn't want any drama; he just wants to have a good time! Hanky loves people with his whole heart and greets everyone like they're his most favorite person (because in his world, right then, they are!). He comes in for love and is quick to soak up any offerings of affection. He is the epitome of the dog that will make you smile even on a real bad day. Plus, he already knows "sit," so yeah, he is pretty much perfect! If you want to teach him a few more things, you'll be happy to know his sweet nature is perfectly paired with a boy who will work for a treat. That treat motivation and eagerness to please make him a dream to teach, and he will quickly pick up more skills as he grows. Hanky is perfectly social with other dogs and adapts his playstyle beautifully to playmates of different personalities. He's respectful with calmer dogs, happy to romp with playful ones, and shows excellent puppy communication—even backing off politely in moments when the big dogs get to be overwhelming. He did wonderfully with the cat during his assessment and is at the ideal age to learn good manners around feline friends. With guidance and consistency, he can absolutely become a cat-compatible household member. Hanky Baby is an active kiddo who would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and positive training. Older kids would be a better match at this stage, simply because he is still mastering the art of containing his enthusiasm and those jumpy greetings, but this will train away. So, if your kids know how to say "NO!", then he will be a perfect fit. He is sunshine in puppy form—sweet, loving, eager, and ready to grow into the very best version of himself. Ideal Home

Hanky is located in Texas and can be transported to a variety of locations nationwide using their USDA-certified transport system. This includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pickup is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A surcharge of $87 applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
