Gigi is a approximately 3-year-old, 40 lb. female Staffordshire Terrier mix who is as resilient as she is loving. She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, facing the dangers of being on heat. After being rescued and spayed, Gigi experienced a serious medical emergency with coagulation problems, requiring hospitalization and a difficult recovery. Despite her challenges, she fought for her life and pulled through, though her hind legs were initially weak. Now, she's on the mend and ready to find her forever family. Gigi is described as friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, independent, funny, athletic, quiet, dignified, loving, sweet, joyful, beautiful, mellow, caring, cheerful, obedient, patient, cuddly, devoted, sensitive, eager to please, silly, snuggly, entertaining, warm, and intelligent. She also gets along well with other dogs.
Ideal Home
Gigi would thrive in a home with owners who have a fenced backyard, as she is not house-trained. Her ideal family will enjoy outdoor activities, have experience with the Staffordshire Terrier breed, and possess an understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Patience and tolerance for a rescued pup are essential, along with experience in dog behavior and training.
Ongoing Health
Gigi has been spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has also been dewormed and tested for 4DX and heartworm (negative). She is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Gigi is not house-trained and will require ongoing patience and consistent training to help her adjust. Her new family should be prepared to provide a supportive and educational environment.
