Meet Vanna! This approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix is a sweet and affectionate girl with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Vanna is a true "velcro dog" who loves to be close to her people, making her the perfect companion for those seeking a devoted best friend. She's playful, energetic, and ready for adventure, but also loves to snuggle up beside you when it's time to relax. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy games of fetch and go on walks. She's a great traveler and enjoys car rides, making her an ideal partner for any outing. At home, Vanna is trusted to free roam and has proven to be non-destructive, as her biggest desire is to be near her favorite humans.
Ideal Home
Vanna would do best as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) provided there are no resources to guard or compete over. She's good at reading other dogs' cues when they're done playing. Vanna is not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash, so continued leash training will be important. She does great with dog-savvy cats! Vanna is initially reserved with strangers but warms up quickly and is friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Vanna is spayed and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Vanna has experienced significant trauma and is working through some challenges. She has resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, and will need continued support with leash manners. She is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents, but is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has a lot of potential to continue growing.
