Scout is a sweet, playful, and affectionate male Rat Terrier, approximately 3-4 years old and weighing around 14 lbs. He's a bundle of personality who loves to run, play, and snuggle up close to his people. Scout truly enjoys giving and receiving affection, making him a wonderful companion. He's also very sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women, making him a great fit for many families. Scout was rescued after being attacked by larger dogs, but thankfully, he only sustained a few scratches and was very brave throughout the ordeal. He has since shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit, and is now safe, healthy, and ready for his new chapter.

- A family with an open understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, and who are willing to provide protection and education.
- Experience in dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer.

Training & Support
Scout is not house-trained. Many rescued dogs require an adjustment period to new environments and people. Patience, understanding, and a consistent routine will be crucial in helping Scout build trust and feel secure in his new home.

- Fill out our adoption form.
- Submit photos/videos of your home to ensure a safe environment.
- If it's a match, we'll schedule a call or video chat for a virtual home tour and pet introduction.
- 1-2 references will be contacted.
- Upon approval, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, vaccinations, microchipping, food, and more.
Transporation
Scout is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is available for transport to the East Coast. Transport is door-to-door and includes scheduled trips 3-4 times a year with a contracted transport company. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD applies. You will receive real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group throughout the journey.
