Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix whose journey to finding a loving home has been remarkable. Rescued from a case of abuse and neglect, she weighed only 18 lbs at six months old. It took many months for her to learn that a gentle touch can mean love. Today, Daisy Mae is a happy, affectionate, and playful girl, eager to find a family who will provide the safety and devotion she deserves. She's smart, outgoing, and loves car rides, heavy chew toys, and being close to her people. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people at first, she warms up quickly and thrives on attention once she feels secure.
Ideal Home
Daisy Mae adores children of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. She enjoys playtime with other dogs, though she can be a bit bossy and benefits from slow introductions. She does well with balanced or confident dogs between 35-70 lbs. She doesn't require another dog in the home and would also be a wonderful only pet. She needs a home that understands her past, provides gentle structure, and celebrates the happy, goofy, affectionate girl she has become.
Ongoing Health
Daisy Mae is in great shape. She does have slightly runny eyes, suspected to be due to environmental allergies that flare up seasonally. This requires occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.
Training & Support
Daisy Mae is great on leash, fully house-trained, and crate-trained. Due to her past experience with food insecurity, she eats and enjoys treats in her crate to help her feel safe. She may bark at other dogs passing by while she's eating, so she's happiest with space and a calm environment during meal times.
