Meet Cotton Ball, a gentle and sensitive 32lb Lab retriever mix with an estimated birthday of March 26, 2022. Cotton Ball is a sweet soul who is just beginning to learn what love feels like. She came from a difficult hoarding situation and was underweight, but with good food, patience, and kindness, she's gaining strength and confidence every day. She can be a little shy at first, as the world is still new to her. But once she feels safe, you'll see her soft eyes, quiet tail wags, and a gentle presence that just wants to be near you. Cotton Ball is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time and appreciates building a deeper, quiet, and loyal bond.
Ideal Home
Cotton Ball would do best in a calm, loving home where life moves at a slower pace, allowing her to continue blossoming in her own time. She's not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms immediately, but she is the kind who will build a truly special connection.

- Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
- Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
- Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
- All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
Transporation
Cotton Ball is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and may vary, including to nearby towns or states. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
