Rex

Rex is a handsome shepherd mix, around six years old, who was rescued from the streets of Houston. He was found lying in the heat, seemingly waiting for someone, and despite his abandonment, he showed trust by jumping into a car with a stranger, leading him to our rescue. Rex is a dog who misses his past and seems confused and longing for the people who left him behind. He has a strong, dominant personality but avoids conflict and will quietly lean in for pets. However, he will warn you with a growl if he feels uncomfortable or if someone is being too familiar. Rex responds to kindness and is clearly grieving his past. He's a shepherd with a strong character, and while finding him the right home may not be easy, we believe it's out there for an experienced individual who understands his needs.
