Meet Sam, a handsome hound mix with a sweet, gentle heart. After thriving in a loving home with another dog and a one-year-old child, Sam is looking for a new forever home following his adopters’ divorce.

Sam can be shy with new people, but patience and reassurance help him feel safe. Once he trusts you, his affectionate personality and loyal nature shine through. He has already proven himself to be a wonderful family companion.

Ideal Home

Sam would do well with a patient family who will give him time to settle in and build trust. An adult-only home is preferred, though he previously lived successfully with an infant. He has lived successfully with another dog and is reported to be good with cats.

Ongoing Health

Sam is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea and tick prevention, dewormed, and has been examined by a veterinarian. He has been heartworm tested.

Training & Support

Sam is not currently reported as house-trained. He is gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered, but may need time and reassurance in new surroundings.
