Siri is currently being treated for heartworm disease. This is a treatable condition, and dogs who complete treatment typically live long, healthy lives. Heartworms are transmitted through mosquito bites and cannot be passed from dog to dog. During her treatment, Siri will need a quieter lifestyle with plenty of rest, cuddles, and relaxation. Activity restriction is temporary but crucial for a successful recovery.
