Sansa is a beautiful and happy 10-month-old girl who appears to be a Chihuahua-Cocker Spaniel mix. Weighing around 10 lbs, she's a perfect size for a loving companion. Sansa was surrendered by her previous family but remains a sweet and playful pup, eager to start her next chapter. She's already house-trained and crate-trained, and she gets along wonderfully with cats, other dogs, and people of all ages. While she may bark at strangers initially, it's just her way of being alert. With a little patience and reassurance, she warms up quickly and becomes very affectionate. Sansa is ready to bring loyalty and playfulness to her forever home!
Ideal Home
Sansa would thrive in a home that provides consistent love and guidance to help her build confidence. She needs a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families who are truly committed to rescuing a dog, understand the needs of rescued animals, and have experience with or are willing to hire a trainer for intelligent dogs are ideal. A high level of tolerance and patience for rescued puppies is essential.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a comprehensive health protocol including: spay/neuter, DHPPi vaccines (2 doses), rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, 4DX test, negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Sansa is house-trained and crate-trained. However, it's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and may not be fully house-trained, as emphasized by the rescue. Patience, understanding, and consistent guidance will help her feel secure and build trust. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are highly encouraged.

- If it's a potential match, you'll have a video chat to meet the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.

- Upon approval, an adoption contract will be signed and an adoption fee will be collected to cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.
Transportation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. The transport process includes scheduled trips, a contracted transport company, all necessary legal and health documents (including a USDA health certificate), and real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
