Meet Iggy! 🐾
Iggy is a sweet 10-year-old, 7 lb senior who was found wandering in South Houston without a collar or microchip. After every effort to locate his owner was unsuccessful, his kind finder contacted us to help keep him safe and out of the shelter. Iggy may be small, but he has so much quiet love to give. He enjoys being part of a pack and takes cues from other dogs extremely well. He is not interested in being the boss--he is simply happy to follow along, stay close to his people, and be included. Having another friendly dog in his future home would help build his confidence and make it easier for him to adjust to his new surroundings. This adorable little guy is eager to please, gentle, and incredibly low maintenance. He loves being petted, going outside, and, of course, mealtime! He walks nicely on a leash, does not bark at passing dogs, happily accepts treats, and never fusses, begs, or whines. At night, he sleeps soundly in his dog bed on the floor. Iggy also has the cutest crooked smile, and every once in a while, his tiny teeth make an appearance--which might be the sweetest thing you will ever see! Iggy is truly a joy--smart, gentle, affectionate, and grateful simply to be near the humans and animals he loves.
Ideal Home
Iggy would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a securely fenced yard and a patient family who will give him time to learn that he is safe. New or loud noises can initially frighten him, but he typically adjusts quickly with reassurance. He would be perfectly content spending his days relaxing in a cozy bed, quietly following his family around, and soaking up all the love he has been missing.
