Zara is a wonderful German Shepherd mix who has really blossomed! She has gained some weight and is eager for pack walks, even with a male handler – it took her some time to become comfortable with men. Zara can be a bit shy about eating, preferring to have her bowl placed down and be left alone, or to eat outside. She'll readily take a treat but will retreat to a private spot to enjoy it. Zara is very friendly with company and enjoys attention. She gets excited around other dogs and has a high-pitched bark, but is protective of her home without being aggressive. She doesn't seem bothered by squirrels or cats. Zara is afraid of thunder and will seek comfort with her favorite human during storms. She is happy to be in her crate, but prefers the door to be open. While still a little shy with men, she no longer hides.

Ideal Home

Zara would be happiest in an all-female household or with a single male dog, as she can be a bit bossy with other female dogs.
