Meet Dahlia, a spirited and energetic one-year-old pup who's ready to be your new best friend! This sweet girl is known as Dolly when she's having fun, but she responds to any excited greeting. Dahlia was in an accident when she was younger, which affected one of her legs. After it healed incorrectly, her rescue family made the difficult decision to amputate. But don't worry, this hasn't slowed Dahlia down one bit! She's recovered beautifully and is now even faster and more agile. She loves to play fetch, conquer her toys, and is always up for an adventure. Dahlia is a very smart girl who is quickly learning basic obedience commands and walks wonderfully on a leash. She's incredibly treat-motivated and eager to continue learning new things. Her foster mom describes her as a "wild child" with a possible mix of working breeds, reminding her of a Belgian Malinois. She's already crate-trained, housebroken, enjoys car rides, and gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. Dahlia has also learned to live harmoniously with cats, understanding that they are for watching, not for playing. She's been around children and has been perfectly fine with them, though she is still a bouncy puppy.
Ideal Home
Dahlia would thrive in an active home where she can share her boundless energy. Her foster mom notes that she acts like a Belgian Malinois, so a home that can provide mental and physical stimulation would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Dahlia has had a full and successful recovery after her leg amputation.
