About Bryce

Bryce is a beautiful, approximately 1.5-year-old girl who is an absolute love bug and gives some of the best hugs! She's super smart and treat-motivated, making training a breeze. Bryce is very proud of her "sit" and will anticipate when you'd like her to perform it, such as before her food bowl is placed down or before being leashed. She also sleeps well in her crate and walks nicely on a leash.

Bryce adores toys and can entertain herself for hours, squeaking them, tossing them, and shaking her head with them. She also loves her outdoor time, whether it's neighborhood walks, mountain hikes, or just observing the world. Bryce enjoys playing in the water and is incredibly athletic, showing potential for dog sports like agility or frisbee. She might even work around sheep with further training. Bryce requires at least an hour of vigorous exercise daily.

She previously lived happily with a male dog but has not gotten along with the female dog in her foster home. Bryce would likely do best as a solo dog or with a male canine companion who doesn't mind a bossy girl. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. Due to her strong prey drive outdoors, very slow introductions and the use of baby gates are recommended for safety.

Bryce can be unsure or reactive to strangers, but thrives with slow introductions. While she has lunged at a male coworker, she has been fine meeting other individuals. Continued training is recommended to help her safely meet new people consistently. WBCR will provide training resources with a positive reinforcement trainer, offering virtual or in-person sessions post-adoption.

Bryce exhibits a strong prey drive outdoors, and on leash, she may pull you over if you're not attentive. A fenced yard is required unless she can be kept on a leash at all times, including for potty breaks. With bonding and training, off-leash potential is certainly achievable.

Are you looking for an active girl who loves water and is eager to participate in any activity you choose? Do you have a home where she can be your only dog or the companion to a male dog? Are you an experienced border collie owner seeking a super smart, driven dog eager to learn and please? Bryce is the one for you!
