Jack

Jack is a super sweet, approximately 24lb, 10-year-old, neutered male Schnauzer mix. He was found as a stray, so not much history is known about him. He's doing very well and has transitioned from a scary kill shelter to the loving foster home of a very experienced foster mom. Unfortunately, due to personal health concerns, Jack is now being fostered in Goose Creek, SC, by another equally experienced foster who has a very full house with many other dogs. This was a last-minute, emergency placement.

Ideal Home

We're looking for a very understanding adopter who can offer Jack at least six months to gain his trust and cooperation. He is super social with same-size friendly dogs and was particularly friendly and protective of a sweet little female terrier whom he became especially fond of.

Ongoing Health

Jack is fully vetted, up-to-date on all shots and preventatives, and is in good health. He does require daily drops for 'dry eye' in both eyes, but otherwise has no special needs or diet.

Training & Support

Jack is house-trained and leash-crate-trained. However, handling Jack is our main concern. He is not allowing himself to be picked up at this time and is very resistant to being physically handled by a vet or groomer. He was prescribed tranquilizers by a vet to help keep him calm, which hopefully will make visits to the groomer, vet, and home eye care more manageable. His current foster has shown improvement in his handling during his time in her care.

Transporation

Jack is currently located in Goose Creek, SC. We can arrange transport for the right person and will adopt out-of-state to a good adoptive home setting. We can also arrange a video-chat with Jack's foster.
