Hi there! I'm Lakota, an active and intelligent pup who's ready to find my forever family. I'm obedience trained, crate trained, and potty trained, and I absolutely love being outdoors! I also enjoy playing with other dogs my size and would do best with a canine friend who can keep up with my energetic, rowdy play style. I'm a smart cookie who thrives on having a job to do, so I'm looking for a home that will keep me busy both physically and mentally. Regular exercise, training, enrichment activities, and opportunities to use my brain are key to my happiness! I know my commands well and love learning, but I might test boundaries occasionally, so a consistent and confident owner is a must.

Ideal Home

I need a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time, especially since I've spent most of my life in rescue. I can be a bit cautious around new people and situations, and I'm particularly nervous around men when we first meet, so slow, calm introductions are best. Once I feel comfortable, I'm a super loyal companion! I'm not quite ready for busy public outings right away and prefer a more relaxed lifestyle, with hikes being my idea of a perfect date. I'll need time to decompress, learn the routine, and build trust before showing you my best self. I'm also athletic and can climb or scale fences, so a secure yard with a high fence is essential to keep me safe. Oh, and I'm a bit too interested in cats, so a feline-free home is a must.
