Theo

Theo is a spectacularly handsome Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix who is approximately 9 months old and weighs around 55 pounds. He arrived at the shelter as part of a large group of dogs who had spent most of their lives in kennels and crates, lacking proper developmental and living experiences. Despite their initial fear in the shelter environment, Theo and his companions have proven to be sweet-tempered and easy to handle, quickly forming bonds with their human friends. Theo is affectionate, people-oriented, and checks in with his handler often. He walks well on leash and is very treat-motivated, showing great potential for learning new things. Theo is not very vocal but is active, alert, and interested in his surroundings. He gets along well with other dogs and would likely be a fun companion for an active family. Theo is neutered and ready to find his forever home.

Ideal Home

Theo would thrive in an active family that can provide him with appropriate levels of exercise and mental stimulation. Given his breed, leaving him cooped up alone for long periods could lead to rearranged belongings.

Theo is neutered and has no other known health conditions.

Training & Support

Theo has had very little formal training but is smart and eager to please, especially with treats. He has shown promise in keeping his kennel tidy, but house-training success cannot be guaranteed. Information on his attitude toward cats is not available. A meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home.
