Saul

Saúl is the definition of a gentle giant—a noble soul in the body of a large dog. He was rescued in 2023 after surviving cancer and Ehrlichia. After completing chemotherapy and receiving intensive care, he is now 100% healthy and cancer-free. After a long wait at the shelter, Saúl is more than ready to find a forever home where he can give all the love he has to offer. He is approximately 7 years old and weighs about 88 lbs. Saúl is extremely docile and very sociable with strangers, truly enjoying meeting new people and receiving affection. While friendly, he has natural discernment and acts as a protector by barking only at people he perceives as a real threat. He is social and coexists excellently with other canines, currently living with 15 other medium-sized dogs without any issues.

Ideal Home

Saúl requires a family committed to helping him reach a healthy weight through exercise. He is NOT cat-friendly. He needs a firm leader who can manage his significant physical strength.

Training & Support

Saúl shows leash reactivity: if he sees another dog while on a walk, he tends to pull and bark. He needs a firm leader who can manage his strength.
