Hazel is the sweetest, most gentle soul you could ever meet. She has such a calm spirit and loves everyone — dogs, cats, and even children. She’s incredibly gentle, and when she first came into foster care, she was understandably on high alert, having recently been a young mama caring for her babies in the woods. She had to learn that she didn’t have to be on guard anymore, that she was finally safe, and that it was okay to relax. And she truly has! Watching Hazel learn how to rest has been such a gift. When she first arrived, she preferred being outside and would try to sleep under a tree because that’s what she was used to. But once she realized that inside meant safety and comfort, everything changed. Now she has fully embraced the cozy life! The couch and dog beds are absolute favorites. She loves attention and belly rubs, and if you’re lucky, she might even give you the sweetest little smile. Hazel is still building confidence with the leash. She much prefers being at home where she feels safe and relaxed and needs some encouragement to head out the door. It’s something she’s continuing to work on, and with patience and reassurance, she’ll keep making progress. The good news? She’s very treat motivated! Hazel has come such a long way and is ready for a loving home where she can continue to feel safe, cherished, and adored. Ongoing Health
All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. The adoption fee covers vetting and spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.
Training & Support
Hazel is still building confidence with the leash and needs some encouragement to head out the door. She is treat motivated, which will help with continued progress.
