Cocoa Bear (26-100 D)

Cocoa Bear is a 9–11 month old Chocolate Lab mix with the sweetest soul. She's potty trained, sleeps through the night curled up with her humans, and is happiest when she's snuggled up close to the people she trusts.

Cocoa can be a little shy when she first meets new people or experiences new things, but once she feels safe, her goofy personality starts to shine. She loves toys, gets the occasional zoomies, and has a silly side that will keep you smiling.

She does wonderfully with other dogs, whether they're big or small, and she's also great with cats. Having a confident dog friend around would likely help her continue building confidence in her new home.

One thing Cocoa is still working on is leash walking. The leash can be a little scary for her, so she'll need a patient adopter who can help her practice and celebrate the small wins along the way. The good news? She's already gaining confidence every day and continues to make progress.

Cocoa isn't a huge fan of the crate, but she hasn't really needed one in foster care. What she needs most is a family willing to meet her where she is, let her move at her own pace, and show her that the world is a safe place.
