Meet Abbie! She's a sweet 3-year-old Pitbull Terrier weighing around 50 pounds. Abbie is spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccinations. She completed a training program with Wag More Dog Training almost two years ago and was a wonderful student! Sadly, she experienced a less-than-ideal home environment that affected her confidence. We've been working on re-socializing her and helping her regain her confidence, while also ensuring she's physically healthy.
Abbie can be a bit shy and unsure around new people, but with a little patience and a few tasty treats, she warms up quickly! She absolutely adores children and grew up with several, doing wonderfully with the infant in her foster home. She handles vet visits and grooming appointments with grace, even though she starts out a little nervous. When it comes to other dogs, Abbie's social skills are a bit rusty from a period of limited canine interaction. However, she has slowly bonded with a playful male cattle dog and they are now the best of friends! She also hit it off immediately with a 6-month-old puppy and has been successfully coexisting with other dogs in her foster home after careful, slow introductions. She would likely enjoy a canine companion, provided they are the right match.
Abbie is a joy to walk on leash, has fantastic recall, and knows commands like Sit, Down, Place, Break, and Drop It (she's a big fan of her ball!). She remains non-reactive to other people or dogs during walks. Abbie is an incredibly eager-to-please and quick learner! She's a medium-energy dog who is just as happy to snuggle on the couch on a rainy day as she is to play hard. Her athletic build means she's ready for adventure! She can happily entertain herself with a toy or chew, loves a good walk, and would make an excellent casual hiking buddy. She's your typical wiggly, affectionate, goofy, playful, loyal Pibble who will do anything for a tasty morsel!
