Meet Clyde! This sweet, smart, and endlessly affectionate Belgian Malinois hasn't let anything slow him down, not even becoming a "tripod" after losing his front left leg. As far as Clyde is concerned, he's just like any other dog – ready to run, play, wrestle, and soak up all the love he can get, especially during his favorite snuggle time. This curious boy has lots of energy and will thrive in an active home that can keep both his body and mind engaged. He absolutely loves toys and playtime. Clyde is still working on his manners and can act like a toddler in a dog's body, so he'll need a patient, experienced owner committed to continuing his training and helping him grow into his best self. Clyde is crate trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and already knows some basic commands.
Ideal Home
Clyde would do best in an active home that can keep his body and mind engaged. Due to his prey drive, a home without other smaller pets is recommended. He does get along with similar-sized dogs. An adult-only home without small children would be the best fit. His ideal family will also be mindful of his long-term joint health, ensuring his remaining front leg stays strong and supported for years to come.
Ongoing Health
Clyde is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Like many Malinois, Clyde can be a bit mouthy and sometimes forgets just how big he is. He also has some resource-guarding tendencies with food and toys. He'll need a patient, experienced owner committed to continuing his training to help him grow into his best self. A confident, experienced handler who can manage and continue working on these behaviors is recommended.
