Atlas Moose is the kind of puppy that makes you laugh within the first five minutes of meeting him. Maybe it's the giant floppy ears, or the tail that's practically as long as the rest of him, or the fact that he can somehow detect a treat from what feels like three zip codes away. Whatever it is, this boy has personality for days. He's goofy, happy, affectionate, and still very much figuring out how to navigate life with those oversized puppy feet.
Atlas Moose is approximately 5 months old and weighs around 42 lbs. We believe he may be a German Shepherd/Bloodhound mix. He's still growing and has plenty of loose skin and big puppy feet left to fill out. We don't know exactly how big he'll end up, but we'd be very surprised if this boy stays small. He's essentially built like a baby moose! He's sweet, loving, curious, playful, and always ready to have a good time. One minute he's bouncing around playing with a toy and the next he's happily soaking up affection. He has a wonderfully happy-go-lucky personality and approaches life with the enthusiasm that only a puppy can have.
Atlas is both a toy lover and a foodie. This boy loves treats and gets genuinely excited when snacks are involved. His food motivation will make him a blast to continue training. He's eager to learn and already showing lots of potential. He also loves toys, especially balls. Atlas already knows how to play fetch and will happily bring the ball back to you again and again.
Atlas has met adult dogs and has done well with them. Like many puppies, he can come on a little strong at first. During introductions, he pulled hard and was a little pushy with his sniffing, but once greetings were over he settled down nicely. He listened when the other dogs communicated with him, respecting their cues for space. He's still learning social skills, but he's already showing that he understands dog communication. Atlas could do well as an only dog or with another medium to large dog that enjoys playful puppy energy. He would probably love having a canine playmate to wrestle with, chase around the yard, and burn off some of that puppy enthusiasm.
Ideal Home
Atlas is going to need a family committed to training, socialization, and all the work that comes with raising a large breed puppy. We think he'd do best in a home with a backyard where he has room to run, play fetch, stretch those long legs, and burn off energy.
Ongoing Health
Atlas is a healthy puppy.
Training & Support
Atlas is working on crate training and is doing great learning where the appropriate potty places are. Like any puppy his age, he'll need continued consistency, routine, and structure as he grows.
