Hera came to us with her beautiful litter of puppies. Now that she's been a great mom and her pups have found their forever homes, we've had the chance to truly get to know Hera. She's a master of companionship, always wanting to be right by your side. She’s a velcro dog in the best way, offering comfort and affection, even to the point of washing your face! Hera is incredibly intelligent and has learned not to react to everything, showing progress with things like wheelchairs and new people. She takes time to adjust, and slow introductions are key. Hera has a lot of love to give and will "body slam" you for more scratches – it's just her way of showing affection! She is also a big fan of bike-joring, loving to run and get her energy out.

Ideal Home

Hera would thrive in a home that understands her breed and is prepared to give her the time she needs to decompress at her own pace. She needs a low-traffic home as she can be reactive to strangers. While she does well with saavy teenagers, she is not recommended for homes with young children due to their unpredictability.

Hera is a highly intelligent dog who enjoys mental stimulation. She has a high prey drive and a high food drive, but this handler-resource guarding is easily redirected. She is not possessive of food or toys with her established handler and is completely touchable by them. She has shown she can outsmart slow feeders! Her ideal adopter will be able to provide her with plenty of mental enrichment.
