Duke is a handsome 9-year-old, 50 lb. Treeing Walker Coonhound mix with a heart full of affection and a happy-go-lucky spirit! He was found as a stray in rural North Carolina and is now ready to find his forever family. Duke is a true gem – he walks beautifully on a leash, is a dream in the car, and is already house-trained. He'd make a fantastic hiking companion, enjoying the great outdoors while also appreciating a cozy spot on a soft bed. Duke is also a social butterfly and enjoys the company of cats and other dogs.

Ideal Home

Duke would do best with another dog or dogs in a home with a fenced-in yard. Due to manageable resource guarding in a home environment, he will need an experienced adopter and a child-free home.

Duke is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Duke is house-trained and a great leash walker. His main need is an experienced adopter who can help manage his resource guarding.
