Nala

Nala is a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love waiting to be shared! She's been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations, and has tested heartworm negative. Nala's journey began with a difficult start, spending her first year in a crate and facing neglect. While she found a second home, her previous owners recognized that her need for attention and security meant she deserved a different environment.

Ideal Home

Nala is a sensitive soul who needs a patient and understanding family. Because she can be nervous and has trust issues, it will take time for her to feel secure. She is fearful of fast movements and loud noises, making a home with older children (8 and up) or no children the best fit. A physically fenced yard is a must due to her insecurities and high flight risk – no invisible fences, tie-outs, or kennels. Nala also thrives with the companionship of another small, friendly dog, which provides her with security and a role model for building confidence.

Nala is healthy and up to date on all her medical needs.

Training & Support

Nala is still learning to trust and will need a slow and gentle approach to building a bond. Patience, understanding, and consistent positive reinforcement will be key to helping her feel safe and loved. Introducing her to other dogs in the home has been very beneficial for her confidence.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• We do not typically do adoptions the same day as the meet and greet.
• No out-of-state adoptions.
• Adoption Fee: $350 (payable by cash, check, or Venmo)
• Minimum adopter age: 21

Transporation

Nala can be met on Sundays between 11 AM and 2 PM at Pet Supplies Plus in Howell (2649 E. Grand River) during our Meet and Greet event. It would be helpful to bring pictures/videos of your fenced backyard and your resident dog(s) for a meet and greet.
