About Rylie
A SWEET LITTLE LOVEBUG: Approximately 5 years old / Approximately 9 lbs.
Hello - I'm Rylie! I came to Mostly Mutts with three other doggies from a very neglectful situation. My first stop was animal control, where they began getting me the vetting and good care I desperately needed. Mostly Mutts then jumped in and - while it has taken awhile to get me feeling good again, I am now doing great and am ready to meet my new family and live the good life all doggies deserve. I was adopted for about a month, but it wasn't a good fit, so I'm back with Mostly Mutts and in a wonderful foster home while I wait to find my furever family!
Ideal Home
I really like the dogs in my foster home as well as the dogs I met in my temporary home, and I came to Mostly Mutts with other dogs that I also liked. If you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! I've not shown any interest in the cats in my foster home, other than just sniffing them. All cats are different, so I'm not sure how I'd do with another kitty. I enjoy the company of the teenagers who live in my foster home, so let's meet and best no toddlers or small children that may fall on me. I'm a very sweet and gentle, initially shy girl who will be your loyal lap dog! I'm friendly, happy-natured and quite playful. I will delight you with body wiggles and tail wags and I'm sure you will love me and want to spend lots of time with me. My energy level is moderate. I love food and snuggling right next you as well as following my people around to keep them company. I also like to play with my people and I love to lie in the sun on the back deck and sunbathe. I am not a fan of car rides, and outside sounds (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, etc.) tend to startle me. Otherwise, I'm sure I would not like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
Ongoing Health
I am current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I'm on a seizure medication which is working well for me, and I should stay on it as well as an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin. I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived and have had that now with a few teeth pulled.
Training & Support
I don't currently know any commands, but perhaps you can teach me some. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let's take some of those together. I do really well in a crate, but I haven't really needed to be crated for long in my foster home. I've shown that I'm good at being out alone, if need be, and I sleep in the bed with my fosters at nighttime. My potty habits have been coming along in my foster home with a few accidents still. I do pretty well on a set schedule, though I don't alert that I need to go. My fosters take me out when I get up in morning, right after breakfast, at lunchtime, right after dinner and right before bed - with perhaps another outing during the day. Keeping me on a good schedule will help me master my potty skills.
