Josie Ella isn't your typical rescue dog, and that's exactly why someone out there is going to fall for her, hard. Josie is a peace-bringer, a quiet observer who is slowly but surely learning that the world can be a kind place. At approximately 3.5 years old and weighing 60 lbs, this pittie mix is a gentle soul who makes life calmer just by being there. While she may not be a "cuddly" dog yet, she tolerates affection and enjoys resting her head on your legs. Josie is for the person who understands that love doesn't always have to be loud to be profound, and finds meaning in routine, gentle coexistence, and celebrating the "small wins" like a relaxed body or a soft glance. She is highly motivated by food, taking treats with the gentlest of lips.

Josie thrives in a home with at least one other confident dog, as they are essential to her confidence. She is excellent with felines of all types.

Training & Support
Josie is a "slow bloom" and can be quiet, observant, and guarded. She will need patience and a consistent routine to continue building trust. She is currently fostered with a large, diverse pack of dogs and two teenagers, and has shown great progress.

- The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship).

Transporation
Josie is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
