Holt

Holt is a 5-month-old Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a sweet face and a great brain. He's a friendly, social, and smart puppy who is doing a wonderful job navigating his early days. Holt enjoys the company of people and other dogs, and he's even doing well with cats. He's a baby who will need the usual puppy foundations: structure, training, patience, supervision, and a family dedicated to helping him blossom into the fantastic adult dog he's destined to be.

Ideal Home

Because Holt is a young, active mix of two intelligent breeds, he would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and explore. He'll do best with a family that appreciates an engaged and bright dog and understands that smart puppies are always learning.

Training & Support

Holt is still learning the ropes of being a great dog! As a puppy, he will require patience and consistency with potty training and crate training until he's at least a year old to prevent chewing on inappropriate items. He also needs ongoing socialization to ensure he becomes a well-adjusted adult. Raising a puppy is akin to raising a human toddler; it takes about a year to see a calmer, more settled dog. Adopters should be prepared for the time, effort, and potential expense involved in training, socialization, and providing appropriate toys.
