Gracie

My name is Gracie and I'm a sweet, approximately 3-year-old girl who is 71% Great Pyrenees and 27% Maremma. When I first arrived at Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue (AGPR), I was underweight, had severe mange, and was emotionally detached. Thanks to the amazing care and love from the AGPR team, I've blossomed into a beautiful dog with a lovely coat and have learned to trust and love again. I enjoy my walks and have even made a new best friend, Frost, with whom I love to play. My crate is my "she shed," and I'm happy to chill there when I'm done playing. I was on the slow-kill heartworm protocol and have since tested negative, and you'd never guess I had a rough start to life based on my current energy levels. I'm looking for my happy ever after!

Ideal Home

A fenced-in yard (at least four feet high) is a must for my breed. Great Pyrenees are not a breed for everyone, so please do your research!

Ongoing Health

I previously tested positive for heartworm but have completed the slow-kill protocol and am now heartworm negative. You wouldn't know I had a difficult start by looking at me now!

Training & Support

I am crate trained and consider my crate my personal "she shed." I enjoy playing but also know when it's time to relax.
