Tanuki

Tanuki is a charming senior gentleman, approximately 12-14 years young and weighing in at a sturdy 69 lbs. He was initially surrendered due to mobility concerns, but it turned out he was dealing with lumbar spondylosis, arthritis, and heartworm disease. Thankfully, he's now in rescue, has completed his heartworm treatment, and is on pain management.

Tanuki's transformation is nothing short of amazing! He's a happy, comfortable boy who's embraced his new lease on life with open paws. He absolutely adores receiving and giving affection, returning love twofold. He's wonderfully polite with other dogs and we suspect he'd be a friendly fellow with cats too. His eyes light up for two things: splashing in a pool and playing fetch!

Ideal Home

Tanuki would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to enjoy his golden years. He's good with kids and dogs, and we suspect he'd be easygoing with cats as well.

Ongoing Health

Tanuki has been treated for heartworm disease and is on pain management for lumbar spondylosis and arthritis.

Training & Support

Tanuki is house-trained and knows basic commands.

Tanuki is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY. He is available for local or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet him.
