Watch out, world - here comes Cheerio!
Cheerio is estimated to be just under 2 years old and weighs about 64lbs. She's a ball of fun who is eager to go on adventures and make new friends. She's also a cuddle master who thinks naps are way better with a buddy. Cheerio is an active girl looking for a family who can keep up with her puppy antics. She came to us from an overcrowded Central California animal shelter where she was found as a stray and no family ever came for her. She was at the shelter for about a month and was then placed on the euthanasia list simply due to a lack of space. We quickly found a foster home for her, and she's been settling in well since!
Cheerio is a total lovebug who thrives on human attention. She can be a tad cautious when she meets new people, but she's quick to warm up and cover your face in kisses. She has a hilariously goofy personality, and there are never any dull moments when she is around. She loves to play fetch! Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, and would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be.
Ideal Home
Cheerio could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. She has done well living with other large dogs and could be a great wrestling buddy for another playful pup. She also wouldn't mind being your one and only - more treats and cuddles for her! Cheerio thinks kitties are fun to chase, but with a slow introduction and proper supervision, she has learned to live with dog-savvy cats. She very much prefers it when one of her foster family members can work from home.
Ongoing Health
All animals awaiting adoption are up to date on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after adoption.
Training & Support
Cheerio has mastered a few basic manners, like sit and down, but would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. She has been doing great with her housetraining and has done well being left alone in her crate for short periods. She is happy to sleep through the night in her crate.
